چکیده
Abstract The impact of Ba-modified peanut shell biochar (Ba-PSB) on Pb(II) removal was studied and BaCl2 used as a modifier. It shown that the PSB obtained at 750 °C had best adsorption effect, Ba-PSB larger specific surface area good effect Pb(II). At pH = 5, concentration 400 mg/L, time 14 h, temperature 55 °C, loading amount black (BPSB), red (RPSB), Ba-BPSB, Ba-RPSB reached 128.050, 98.217, 379.330, 364.910 mg/g, respectively. In addition, based non-linear fitting, it found quasi-second-order kinetic model Redlich-Peterson isothermal could be applied to describe Ba-PSB. behavior unmodified modified spontaneous process. Moreover, chemical modification BPSB, RPSB, for hindering –COOH –OH groups revealed 81.81, 77.08, 86.90, 83.65% Pb(II), respectively, which due participation –COOH, while 17.61, 21.70, 12.77, 15.06% from group, increase cation strength (Na+, K+, Ca2+, Mg2+) will reduce capacity

Effects of pyrolysis temperature on soybean stover- and peanut shell-derived biochar properties and TCE adsorption in water.
Conversion of crop residues into biochars (BCs) via pyrolysis is beneficial to environment compared to their direct combustion in agricultural field. Biochars developed from soybean stover at 300 and 700 °C (S-BC300 and S-BC700, respectively) and peanut shells at 300 and 700 °C (P-BC300 and P-BC700, respectively) were used for the removal of trichloroethylene (TCE) from water. Batch adsorption ...
متن کاملActivated carbons prepared from peanut shell and sunflower seed shell for high CO2 adsorption
Biomass wastes are considered as cost-effective and sustainable precursors to prepare activated carbons for CO2 capture. In this study, two biomass-derived activated carbons were prepared using peanut shell and sunflower seed shell, and the optimal activated carbons were obtained at low KOH/carbon ratio of about 1. The peanut shell derived activated carbon (P-973-1.00) and sunflower seed shell ...
متن کاملAdsorption of cytochrome c by succinic anhydride-modified peanut shells
A novel adsorbent based on peanut shells modified with glutaraldehyde and succinic anhydride was prepared. Factors affecting the adsorption capacity, such as the pH, temperature, adsorption time, initial cytochrome c (cyt c) concentration and NaCl ionic strength, were extensively investigated. The results showed that the maximum adsorption capacity of the modified peanut shells (MPSs) was 432.6...
متن کاملCarmine Adsorption from Aqueous Solution by Crosslinked Peanut Husk
To observe the feasibility of the removal of carmine, peanut husk, an agriculture by-product, was crosslinked with epichlorohydrin in alkaline medium and used for adsorption of carmine from aqueous solution. Batch experiments were carried out to study the effects of various parameters such as initial pH, contact time, adsorbent dosage and initial carmine concentration, as ...
متن کاملAdsorption Removal of Humic Acid from Water Using a Modified Algerian Bentonite
In this study, the main objective is the preparation and the characterization of a modified Algerian bentonite based adsorbent by intercalation with hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide (HDTMA). Natural and modified bentonites were characterized using thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). The X-ray results indicate that the geometry of the int...
